New Delhi: Noted historian and biographer Ramachandra Guha today revealed that he is receiving threat mails and warnings for criticizing Prime Minister Narandra Modi, and Amit Shah.
Ramachandra Guha on Tuesday said he has been getting “identical” threat mails warning him not to criticise Modi and the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah.
Guha, who is 58-year-old claimed that he has been also warned in some mails against criticising Shah. “Many people/ids sending identical e-mails warning me to get ready to be punishment.”
However, told media persons that such mails were a “routine affair” and it was “nothing serious”.

He tweeted, “Many people/ids sending identical e-mails warning me to “get ready to be punishment (sic) by Divine Mahakal” for being critical of the BJP.”
One of the tweet read as. “I am also warned not to criticise Narendra Modi and Amit Shah who ‘are blessed & divine chosen one by Divine Mahakal to change the world’.”
Guha is a noted author and historian known for his popular books and articles. Some of Guha’s noted works include India After Gandhi, The VHP Needs To Hear The Condemnation Of The Hindu Middle Ground, Gujarat: The making of a tragedy, etc.
He has also delivered lectures in University of California, Berkeley, Yale University, Stanford University and at Oslo University, and later at the Indian Institute of Science, is a recipient of Padma Bhushan and Sahitya Akademi Award.
