Jammu: A live cartridge of an AK-47 rifle was seized from a pilgrim who was en route the Vaishno Devi shrine in Reasi district here, police said today.
The live cartridge was seized last evening from Sukh Sagar, who hails from Chattisgarh, during checking at a new track en route the cave shrine, a police officer said.
Sagar has been detained and a case has been registered in this regard. Further investigation is going on, the officer added.
With recovery of a live cartridge of AK-47 rifle from the possession of pilgrim at Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan led to arrest of the person and through investigation by Police in this regard.
The accused man has been identified as Sukh Sagar Chouhan, son of Thanda Ram Chouhan of H.no-38, Village- Murli Dugooepara, tehsil Pali, District Korba in Chattisgarh, was intercepted during frisking at PCP new track and one live cartridge of Ak-47 was found from his possession of a yatri namely.
Police immediately arrested him and seized the cartridge and an FIR no. 2/17 U/S 7/27 under Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Bhawan and further investigation was going on in this connection.
