Jammu: A soldier and a BSF Head Constable were killed on Monday in firing by Pakistani troops on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

Defence Ministry sources told media persons, the Pakistan Army resorted to “unprovoked” firing in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district at 8.30 a.m.

Rockets and automatics were used to target Indian positions.

“A BSF (Border Security Force) Head Constable and an Army soldier were killed in the ceasefire violation,” an officer said.

“Indian troops effectively retaliated and firing exchanges are going on between the two sides,” he added.
