Islamabad: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Friday announced to suspend its all Karachi-Mumbai flight operations on “purely economical” grounds, while flights to New Delhi will continue.
PIA Spokesperson Daniyal Gillani, told local online web media that PIA is considering the move and is yet to take a final decision.
Although, he dismissed reports that operations are being suspended due to tense relations between India and Pakistan, the spokesperson asserted that the reasons behind the move are “purely economical”.
He explained that the move may be taken due to declining traffic along the route, adding that flights along the Karachi-New Delhi route will continue its operations.
Pakistan International Airlines which operates a weekly flight between Mumbai and Karachi, will suspend its service from May 11.
The national flag carrier of Pakistan operates the flight on Thursday.
