New Delhi: It was really a matter of huge embarrassment for Bharatiya Janata Party, parliamentarian Meenakshi Lekhi who being a good spokesperson and having a number of educational degrees from top universities in her name, could not write correct Hindi in an event attended by top brass of Delhi.
Lekhi had come for the inauguration of a healthy charioteer event organised by Indraprastha Gas Limited on Wednesday where she could not write “Clean India, Healthy India” in the Hindi language. No wonder, she became a trending topic of discussion on social media.
The IGL program was organised to make vehicles pollution-free and keep drivers healthy. When BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi was asked to write “Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat”(स्वच्छ भारत, स्वस्थ भारत) in the event, she wrote, “Sawachh Bharat, Sawasth Bharat”(सवच्छ भारत, सवस्थ भारत) on the board.
Now, a photo of BJP MP’s incorrect Hindi is going viral on social media. Although Lekhi accepted her mistake and assured to improve her Hindi, she made another mistake in the tweet.
In the tweet, she said she hadn’t studied Hindi after class 8 but still tries to write Hindi. However, she wrote wrong spelling of Auto correct while making other minor mistakes.
The irony is that Meenakshi Lekhi is one of the most educated leaders of BJP. She became the Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from New Delhi constituency after defeating Congress Delhi chief Ajay Maken. She is the national spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party.
After completing B.Sc. in Botany from Hindu College, Delhi, Meenakshi Lekhi joined Campus Law Centre-I, Delhi University for her LLB. She enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi in 1990 and started practising at the Supreme Court of India, Delhi High Court, and several other courts, tribunals and forums in different parts of the country.
