Chennai: You have so far seen many temples in India. All the temples must have some special features in themselves, but today we are going to tell you about one such temple which is famous for its magnificence all over the world with the name of Golden temple of Southern India.
This temple belongs to Goddess Mahalaxmi which is built in Tamil Nadu’s Vellore district. The specialty of this temple is this that it has been made from 15 thousand kilograms of gold.
That is why it is also called the Golden Temple of Southern India. When this temple is illuminated during night then the glow of gold is worth seeing.

This temple is opened for public view from 4 am to 8 pm and for visas from 8 am to 8 pm. To make this temple more beautiful, its outer area has been shaped as a star.
Now, it is believed that there is no temple in the whole world which is build by using this much quantity of gold and even the Golden Temple in Amritsar has a umbrella of just 750 kg.
Every artwork in the Mahalaxmi temple is made up of hands. This temple was opened for devotees in 2007. At night, the number of devotees remains high because at this time the entire temple made of gold is illuminated with light, which is a wonderful sight.
