BJP is like Angad’s feet in Rajasthan, can’t be uprooted: Amit Shah

Jaipur, Sep 11 (IANS) Drawing an analogy between the “feet of Angad” and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Rajasthan, party’s National President Amit Shah on Tuesday said nobody can remove the BJP from the state.

According to the Ramayana, nobody was able to lift the feet of Angad in the court of Ravana.

Shah, who was on a day-long visit to the state, went to Moti Dongri temple of Lord Ganesha and offered his prayers there. After that, he reached Suraj Maidan to address a “Shakti Kendra Sammelan”.

During his address, he attacked the Congress and claimed that the BJP is the only party moving ahead with a focus to build a new India.

The BJP chief said Congress President Rahul Gandhi has been day-dreaming of winning elections in all the three states — Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Dubbing Rahul’s “dreams” as “Mungeri Lal ke haseen sapne”, he said that a party which is yet to decide on their leader in Rajasthan cannot be said ready to face elections.

The Congress is yet to selected its chief ministerial candidate, though names of state Congress President Sachin Pilot and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot are doing the rounds.

“If you are out on road asking for votes, the innocent voters have all the right to know who shall be their leader,” he said, adding that the party which has not yet decided on its leaders, on its policies and has no set agenda, has no right to win the election.

Shah said the Congress party is battling many challenges at this point of time. They should compare the work done during the BJP’s tenure with their own work over the years, he said.

“Ours is a party with clear policies with no confusion anywhere. Our programmes are clear, too. We are following the path shown by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay.

“We have made lakhs of toilets in poor men’s houses, we are ensuring that mothers and infants get timely vaccination, we want that each child gets access to education, the fields in the country should get water in time and farmers should get fair price to their yield…,” he said.

Referring to the National Citizen Register, he said: “We prepared a list of 40 lakh infiltrators but Congress started making hue and cry on the issue. Why does the party want to save these infiltrators,” he asked.
