Gandhinagar: Prithvi Shaw who is Mumbai based batsman became the 15th cricketer to score a century in his debut test match. This 18year old young man reached this milestone on the opening day of first test Between India and West Indies at the Saurashtra Cricket stadium in Rajkot on Thursday.
This match was not less than any dream come true for Prithivi Shaw as he is also the youngest player to score a century on his debut match.
Prithvi Shaw becomes 2nd youngest cricketer to score ton after Sachin Tendulkar:
He also became the second youngest Indian to score a test century after master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin scored his maiden test century in 1990 against England in Manchester at that time he was just of 17 years and 107 days. Shaw is of 18years and 329 days.
Just after he completed his century, players like Sachin, Rohit Sharma, Mohammad Kaif, Sanjay Manjrekar, Virender Sehwag, VVS Lakshman all send their wishes and congratulate this young Indian talent by their tweets.
Shaw opened the innings for India against the West Indies on day 1, he took 99 balls to complete his test century. He fired 15 boundaries in his century.
