Panji: The Goa Assembly speaker and senior Bharataiya Janata Party leader Pramod Sawant could be next Chief Minister of the state after sudden dismissal of Manohar Parrikar yesterday evening who was battling pancreatic cancer.
According to our sources, Goa assembly speaker and BJP leader Pramod Sawant is among the frontrunners in the race for becoming the next CM of the state.
After the demise of Chief Minister of Goa, Manohar Parrikar, the question now arises in the state is who will be the next chief minister of Goa.
Goa assembly speaker Pramod Sawant will be new Chief Minister State:
Two days ago, party leaders and legislators met in Panjim ahead of Parrikar’s demise. BJP leader and Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo admitted that the party discussed replacement of Parrikar.
After the meeting, Lobo had said that someone from the party will be selected and it would be one among the legislators. He said, “We will try to convince Goa Forward Party and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak party.
Parrikar passed away at the age of 63 after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer.
