PM Modi will be visiting New York to attend the UN General Assembly session from September 20-23. He will then take a day off to visit Houston to meet and greet the large Indian-American community in Texas, according to community organizers who have been apprised of his program. It is likely he will meet President Trump and other world leaders on the sidelines of the UN meet.
It is not yet confirmed if he will be Will Washington DC but there are chances he will meet President Donald trump.
Indian Prime Ministers in past seldom went beyond the New York and Washington DC axis. After that there has been always a call from the Indian- American Community in various states and cities of USA. PM Modi has decided to choose Houston because of the largest Indian population there.
Including Chicago, Dallas and other nearby cities, there are almost 250,000+ people of Indian origin.
This will be Modi’s third major address to the Indian-American community after he became the Prime Minister in 2014.
His first address was at the Madison Square Garden in New York in 2014 and Silicon Valley in 2016. Both the events were a huge hit with the Indian-American diaspora with over 20,000 people attending it.
