Owners of the iPhone 6s who have experienced power issues with their devices may be able to take advantage of a new repair program by Apple that will fix the problem for free.
iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus users facing issues powering on their handsets can now avail free of charge repair, Apple announced on Friday. The ‘iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus Service Program for No Power Issues’ is meant for certain handsets produced between October last year and August this year. The programme covers affected iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices for two years after the first retail sale of the unit.
In a post on its support site, the company wrote, “Apple has determined that certain iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices may not power on due to a component that may fail. This issue only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between October 2018 to August 2019.” For free repair, users can contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, or contact Apple Support to arrange mail-in service via the Apple Repair Center. “For free repair, users can contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, or contact Apple Support to arrange mail-in service via the Apple Repair Center.

Apple has a serial number checker to confirm if your iPhone 6s or 6s Plus is included in the repair program.
