Beijing: The rumored smartphone by TikTok’s owner ByteDance is now available. The Nut Jianguo Pro 3 is ByteDance’s first smartphone. It’s a continuation of work by the Chinese phone maker Smartisan (which partially explains the name), and it’s being released under the Smartisan brand.
The device is up on sale in China for 2,899 yuan or $412. It comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855+ chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and four cameras.
The device, also known as Jianguo Pro 3, was developed in tandem with smartphone makers, Smartisan, and retains the same name as Smartisan’s current line of devices.
Users will be able to launch Douyin — the Chinese version of TikTok — by swiping up on the lock screen, Abacus reports. They’ll also be able to apply TikTok effects and filters to videos of any length. So, while the phone might still be under the Smartisan brand, it will give ByteDance a dedicated device and platform to share its apps and features in new ways.
Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 bestows a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. Under its hood, there is a Snapdragon 855+ SoC teamed up with up to 12GB and up to 256GB storage space. It runs Smartisan OS 7 based on Android but the version remains unknown. For imaging, the Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 makes use of a quad-camera module at the rear with a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor with f/1.75 aperture, a 13MP secondary wide-angle lens with a 128-degree field of view, a tertiary 8MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and a fourth 5MP macro lens with the ability to click 2cm macro shots. At the front, it bestows a 20MP selfie camera with the 4-in-1 pixel binning technology.
