After impressing us with the camera performance on this year’s iPhone 11 series, Apple could finally be upgrading one of the most important internal component on its 2020 iPhones. According to a report by MacRumors, the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max which are due to be launched in September 2020 are going to pack 6 gigabytes of RAM.
According to notes shared by Barclays analyst Blayne Curtis and his associates, who have provided reliable information in the past (though not always).
To put things into perspective, the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max have 4GB of RAM. The new iPhones are expected to be unveiled in September 2020. In addition to the increased RAM, the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max are also expected to sport 3D sensing cameras at the back. The phones are also expected to support mmWave 5G. It is, however, unclear whether the devices will work with sub-6GHz 5G.
The iPhone 12 Pro Max is the top model of the iPhone 12 series. It comes equipped with a 6.6-inch bezel-less OLED screen offering a resolution of 1242 x 2688 pixels. The scratch-resistant Super Retina XDR display also features HDR10 and its touch sensor has a refresh rate of 120Hz. Powering this phone is its Apple A14 Bionic chipset and the Apple GPU. The device comes with 6GB of RAM and options of 128GB and 256GB for storage. The rear camera system is impressive as well, offering a trio of 13MP cameras, the same as the iPhone 12 Pro. For selfies, the iPhone 12 Pro Max sports a 13MP camera on the front. The best part about the phone is its 4100mAh battery and support for fast charging with the bundled 18W charger.
