U.S. inflating vaccine deliveries amid the shortages

Due to the growing exasperation over vaccine shortages, President Joe Biden declared that the U.S. is increasing the deliveries to the needy states first over the next three weeks and is expecting to vaccinate 300 million Americans by the early fall.

Biden called the push a “wartime effort”. The administration are planning to obtain an additional 100 million doses of each of the two approved Covid-19 vaccines. Vaccine shortages in U.S. have been so grave that some vaccination sites around the states had to cancel tens of thousands of prior engagements with people who were looking for their first shots.

The newly elected President of U.S. pledged that approximately there will be 16% boost in deliveries to states over the next three weeks. However, the administration is planning to buy another 100 million doses each from drug makers Pfizer and Moderna  for long term assurance.

Governors have been taking record of inadequate supplies in order to plan more dosages and supplies they would require.

Biden’s buoyant pledge of delivering 100 million injections in his first 100 days of office is a promising thing as he could soon achieve his target of providing 1.5 million doses per day.

The administration has asserted that they will hold news briefings three times a week about the outbreak that has killed over 420,000 Americans.
