- Tiger Shroff will now work with Rohit Dhawan in the Hindi adaptation of Rambo.
- The film was earlier supposed to be directed by Siddharth Anand.
Tiger Shroff is all set to step into Sylvester Stallone’s shoes in the official Hindi remake of the action-er Rambo. The film was announced in May 2017 and a lot changed since then. While it was scheduled to release in October 2020, unknown situations played spoilsport. It was rumoured that Rambo with Tiger has been shelved but director Siddharth Anand dismissed it by saying the film is delayed but not shelved. Now, as the action-er is yet to go on floors, a report of a leading daily has it that Rohit Dhawan will be replacing Siddharth as the director.
According to a source close to the development, the Hindi remake of Rambo has been revived with Rohit presiding over the director’s chair. “Rambo is Tiger’s baby and he is kicked about stepping into his idol Stallone’s shoes. After being put on the back-burner for a while, the project is being revived with Rohit Dhawan as director,” the source told.
Rohit, who is reportedly directing the Hindi remake of Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, has apparently locked the script. The film reportedly features Kartik Aaryan in the lead. The source further added that Rambo will go on floors after the former is released. It is being said the Tiger-led film will roll by end of 2021. “Rohit has already locked the script of his next commercial entertainer with Kartik and is expected to kick start it around February. With some free time in his hand, the director has started work on the Rambo remake with his team of writers,” the source added.
“Tiger was presented like Rambo in the Baaghi franchise too, and the idea here is to show him as an intense and brutal fighter. Siddharth and Rohit are good friends and the former has shared the blueprint of his vision with the latter and will be involved in the film’s creative development and credited for it too,” the source concluded.
