China is not deterring its nefarious antics. In such a situation, the Indian Army has deployed troops equipped with shoulder-to-air air defense missiles at significant heights near the China border in eastern Ladakh.
These missiles are capable of accurate attack in the air. Its purpose is to monitor the movements of enemy aircraft and shoot them down with a missile whenever they see them entering the Indian air range.
Apart from the Army, the Air Force also uses it. According to media reports, government sources said, “Indian forces have deployed troops of Russian-origin Igla air defense system, which can be used to thwart enemy’s intentions.”
Air defense systems of Russian descent used by the Indian Army and Air Force are used when approaching enemy combat jets or helicopters.
It is capable of knocking down any enemy aircraft, including fighter jets and slow-moving helicopters. Government sources said that these missiles are a major threat to any enemy aircraft, if they come close and use heights, they can prove to be fatal for them.
India has increased its surveillance by deploying radars and surface-to-air missile systems to monitor enemy air movement.
