Bharti Singh, famous for her stand-up comedy on Indian Television, has now come under the scanner of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). The anti-drug agency reportedly conducted a raid at her Mumbai residence this morning.
News agency ANI carried the report on Twitter stating, “Narcotics Control Bureau conducts a raid at the residence of comedian Bharti Singh in Mumbai: NCB.” It’s believed that the raid was conducted at three different places in Mumbai – Andheri, Lokhandwala and Versova. Neither Bharti nor husband Haarsh have issued any statement regarding the same as yet.
On the professional front, Bharti along with husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s are co-hosts of an ongoing dance reality show, India’s Best Dancer that’s being judged by Malaika Arora, choreographers Geeta Kapur and Terence Lewis. Apart from this, Bharti is also one of the leading characters of The Kapil Sharma Show.
NCB began its probe after alleged drug links were established from the entertainment industry in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. The probe that started in connection with the actor’s death has now spread across the entire industry with NCB exploring all possible angles and alleged suspects.
Previously, TV actors Abigail Pande and Sanam Johar’s house also was raided by the NCB and they were also probed by the anti-drug agency in the case. While no details of the investigation were revealed, Abigail and Sonam were seen making their way to the NCB office whenever they were called.
Leading Bollywood celebs Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, Sara Ali Khan’s names too had cropped up in the alleged drug case and they were summoned by NCB to record statements. More recently, Arjun Rampal was summoned by NCB to record his statement. His girlfriend Gabriella too was asked to appear before the agency a few times for interrogation after her brother Agisilaos was taken into custody for alleged drug peddling.
