Uttar Pradesh’s first wildlife training institute will open in Kanpur. Presently, this institute will operate in the Forestry Training Institute of Kanpur. In this, officers and employees will be trained at various levels for wildlife conservation and management. Here, from management to research will be done according to the circumstances of the state. It is expected to receive funds for the running of this wildlife training institute in the upcoming budget. The department has demanded Rs 30.5 crore for this in the first phase.
To increase greenery in Uttar Pradesh, more funds are expected to be received in the upcoming budget (2021-22). This hope is raised because the Yogi government is constantly making efforts to increase forest cover and tree cover in the state. In the corona transition period, where the budget of most departments was scissor, the government gave Rs 100 crore from the contingency fund to the forest department. Therefore, in the upcoming budget, it is expected to get more budget for planting trees. The department has asked for a budget of Rs 600 crore for plantation. 450 crore was received in the current financial year.
The Forest Department has demanded more than Rs 2220 crore in the upcoming budget. It received only Rs 1390 crore in the budget of 2020-21. About 60 percent more budget has been demanded since last time. Under the Kukrail Biodiversity Center Scheme in Lucknow, more than Rs. 7.47 crore has been demanded for the boundary wall, two crores for the upgrading of the Kukrail Biodiversity Center and more than Rs. 17 crore for the repair and renovation of the Forest Department’s Rest House.
