Huge boost for Delhi Capitals as Axar Patel joins the squad after testing negative

Delhi Capitals all-rounder Axar Patel has fully recovered from COVID-19 and after testing negative twice in two days as per Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 SOPs. Patel, who tested positive on April 3 served a strict 10-day quarantine before he underwent two rounds of testing again.

Patel, who was last seen in India’s series against England in the Test matches and the first T20I didn’t feature in the ODIs and tested positive even before the 14th edition of the IPL began. Having missed four games f his side, Patel will be desperately looking to make a strong comeback into the side, being a very important part of the DC squad.

The Delhi franchise posted a video on their social media showing Patel’s reaction after being out of the quarantine finally and his teammates’ reactions. The video starts with him asking for a barber looking at his grown beard. After which, the camera takes the viewers in Ishant Sharma’s room, who hugged Patel as he returned to the team.

Ishant suggested that Patel hugged him as if they both are meeting after ages. While Patel said that he asked the people at the franchise to not provide him a separate room after being in isolation for a long period. After which, Ishant joked saying that Patel should stay with skipper Rishabh Pant, who has a big room like the size of an apartment.

After which, Patel just wanted to hug everyone and while doing the same he said, “Just looking at people is making me happy.” After which, Patel went on to meet his teammates.

Delhi Capitals have played four games till now and have won three and sit in third place on the points table.
