Despite the need for RT-PCR test reports to enter the state of Uttarakhand, tourists are leaving the planes in huge quantities and going towards the mountains. Tourists are flocking to popular hill stations like Mussoorie and Nainital in Uttarakhand for relief from the scorching heat of the plains.
Uttarakhand’s top hill stations, Mussoorie and Nainital, are buzzing with people these days, hotels are short of rooms and there are long queues of vehicles on the city roads. After the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, Mussoorie and Nainital have witnessed huge tourist rush. While Mussoorie’s Gandhi Chowk, Kuldi Bazar, Mall Road are jam-packed, the situation is similar in Nainital, with bumper-to-bumper traffic jams reported in the city due to influx of tourists.
The visiting tourists come as a relief to the state’s tourism sector, but with the sightings of people flouting the COVID-19 guidelines, the third wave is now likely to arrive.
