Lucknow: State Urban Development Minister Ashutosh Tandon on Tuesday flagged off the prototype trial-run of 04 air-conditioned electric buses at 1090 Chauraha Gomtinagar.
Speaking on the occasion, Tandon said that at present trial run of 04 electric buses has been started, and 700 electric buses will be operational in the coming few months. He said that . He said that all the 700 electric buses are air-conditioned, comfortable and free from noise and air pollution. He said that Rs 965.00 crore would be spent in the operation of these buses.
Minister Ashutosh Tandon said, “After one month trial of prototype buses, operation of other buses would also be started. He said that it has been decided to keep the fare of AC electric buses at par with the fare of ordinary buses, so that more and more people of the state will get comfortable and cheap travel facility.”
Under the FAME-2 scheme, a grant of Rs 45.00 lakh per bus will also be given to the operator. These buses will help in reducing pollution in the metros. Tandon said that Fame India Scheme-II by the Department of Heavy Industries, Government of India.
Under this, 600 electric buses were operated in 11 cities of the state Agra 100, Kanpur 100, Lucknow 100, Prayagraj 50, Varanasi 50, Ghaziabad 50, Meerut 50 and Jhansi 25, Aligarh 25, Moradabad 25 and Bareilly 25. will go.
He said that with the inspiration of Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath, a decision has been taken to run 100 electric buses in 03 other cities Gorakhpur, 25 in Shahjahanpur and 50 in Mathura-Vrindavan by the Uttar Pradesh government from its own resources
