A student named Amar Prem Prakash has filed a petition in Supreme Court, urging the court to order the reopening of schools across the country.
The petition states that the schools have been closed since March April last year and that this was having a psychological effect on the students. Many students are also suffering from stress and restlessness, the petition stated.
Online classes running in schools were not being carried out properly, especially for underprivileged students, and complete development of the students was not taking place, it said.
It also added that since schools are closed, many students have had to resort to manual, remunerative work due to family pressure or to make ends meet.
