Taliban called women health workers to work, said no obstacle would be put in the work

There are reports of lack of medical facilities after Thursday’s blasts in Kabul, Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the Taliban have asked female health workers to return to work. Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid’s Twitter handle wrote, “The Ministry of Health of the Islamic Emirate has asked all female employees in the center and provinces to return to their work regularly. There will be no hindrance in their work from the side of the Islamic Emirate.

Since the withdrawal of the Taliban in Afghanistan, there has been discussion about whether women will be allowed to work or not. In her first press conference after entering Kabul, a Taliban spokesman said that women would get the same rights as enshrined in Sharia law. Zabiullah Mujahid said, “We are committed to fixing the rights of women under the Sharia system. Women are going to work side by side with us. We want to assure the international community that they will not be discriminated against.” ”

Several other Taliban leaders have also been making statements about allowing women to work, but no clear policy has emerged as of now. It is worth mentioning that recently women were barred from working in the country’s National TV and Radio Institute.
