After enduring an unforgettable outing against Australia in the T20 World Cup semi-final, Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali also had to face vile abuse on social media.
As Matthew Wade and Marcus Stoinis’ powerful hitting helped Aaron’s Finch’s side reach their second T20 World Cup final, the Pakistani fans lashed out their anger on the pacer, blaming him as the main culprit for ending their side’s unbeaten run in the tournament.
From micro-blogging site Twitter to picture and video sharing platform Instagram, fans from across the border attacked the 27-year-old speedster, accusing him of fixing the match.
Talking about his performance, Hasan Ali proved to be the most expensive bowler for his side, conceding 44 runs in his four overs without picking up a single wicket.
However, the amount of runs he gave away was not the main reason why Pakistani fans were angry with him. They were furious with him for dropping a crucial catch of ‘Player of the Match’ Matthew Wade in the penultimate over of the innings.
