As a policy, the present UP government acknowledged the great deeds of the legendary personalities who were forgotten by the previous governments.
The Yogi government has done many things to recall the contribution of great men to the society while the previous governments have used their names only for political gains. The UP government named universities, medical colleges and institutions after great men and celebrated the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda as Tribal Pride Day.
In the last four and a half years, the Yogi government has taken several measures to enhance the pride of great men and locally respected personalities.
Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Siddharthnagar and inaugurated nine medical colleges of the state. The medical college of Deoria is named after Maharishi Devraha Baba, of Ghazipur in the name of Maharishi Vishwamitra, Pratapgarh medical college in the name of Dr. Sonelal Patel, Etah in the name of Veerangana Avanti Bai Lodhi, Fatehpur medical college in the name of great warrior Amar Shaheed Jodha Singh and Thakur Darianv Singh. The medical college has been named after Umanath Singh in Jaunpur and Madhav Prasad Tripathi in Siddharthnagar.
Recently, while laying the foundation stone of the State University in Azamgarh, the Union Home and Cooperation Minister talked about renaming the university after Raja Suhail Dev.
Where tribals were neglected in the previous governments, the Yogi government paid special attention to the them. In honor of Birsa Munda, his birth anniversary was celebrated as Tribal Pride Day.
At the beginning of its tenure, the government started the tradition of celebrating birth anniversary of the great personalities in the schools. This gave the children an opportunity to learn about the great men. At the same time, the feeling of patriotism and love for the nation was inculcated in their minds.
