The OnePlus Nord CE that was launched on June 11 this year in India has been a hit due to its premium features and its affordable price tag. OnePlus is now reportedly working on the successor to the popular smartphone with the OnePlus Nord 2 CE.
The smartphone with model number IV2201 and codename Ivan was spotted on the BIS certification website recently. The upcoming OnePlus handset is said to launch in early 2022, there are high chances that the company will launch it by the end of January or mid-February as per the report.
91mobiles in collaboration with tipster Yogesh Brar has revealed key specifications, launch timeline, and price range of the upcoming OnePlus Nord 2 CE. The smartphone is expected to be launched in early 2022 towards the end of January or in February according to the report. Considering that the OnePlus Nord CE was launched in June 2021, the successor is likely to be launched earlier.
The OnePlus Nord 2 CE will feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, as per the report. The smartphone is said to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G processor with anywhere between 6GB to 12GB of RAM. One can also expect 128GB and 256GB onboard storage variants as well. The smartphone will ship with Android 12-based OxygenOS 12.
As far as the camera department is concerned the OnePlus Ivan will feature a 64 megapixel primary OmniVision rear camera, accompanied by an 8 megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2 megapixel macro sensor. In the front, the smartphone is equipped with a 16 megapixel camera for selfies and video calling. The smartphone packs a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging.
Additionally, the report claims the new OnePlus Nord 2 CE will skip the Alert Slider as part of its design. Stereo speakers, a 3.5mm audio jack, Gorilla Glass protection, and a slightly thick chin are some of the design elements tipped. There is also a thick chin bezel and a corner punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera.
The frame of the OnePlus Nord 2 CE is said to be made up of plastic, while the glass back and the screen will have a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass on top. It is said to be priced between Rs. 24,000 to Rs. 28,000 in India.
