Odisha govt withholds decision to reopen schools for Classes 1 to 5, here’s the reason

In view of the rising Covid-19 cases and Omicron variant cases, the Odisha government has decided to withhold its decision to reopen schools. Earlier, the state government announced to reopen schools for students of Classes 1 to 5 from January 3, 2022.

As per reports, the decision was taken after officials visited various primary schools and held talks with the stakeholders, said the school and mass education minister S R Dash.

”Keeping in view the rise in the number of daily cases and based on the feedback provided by parents across the state, we have decided not to reopen schools for students of Classes 1 to 5 from January 3,” PTI quoted S R Dash as saying.
