Bajaj Auto will soon introduce the Chetak electric scooter in Mumbai. The company has listed Mumbai on its official website, although the bookings are not active yet. The scooter will be available via two outlets – KTM Andheri and KTM Vasai. Potential buyers can register their interest on the company’s website.
Apart from Mumbai, the electric scooter is available in Aurangabad, Pune, Nagpur, and Nashik in the state of Maharashtra. Similar to other cities, the electric scooter will be available in two variants in Mumbai – Urbane and Premium. Both variants are powered by a 3.8kW motor that is fueled by a non-removable 3kWh IP67 lithium-ion battery pack. The company claims a top speed of 70kmph and a range of 95km (in Eco mode).
The booking, once open, should be available for a token amount of Rs 2,000. Bajaj plans to offer the Chetak electric scooter in 22 new cities by 2022.
