Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise is dominating the box office and creating new records as days pass by. The film, directed by Sukumar, has received an overwhelming response from critics and audiences alike. The Hindi version of Pushpa has now crossed the Rs 75 crore-mark in India. The film is continuing its theatrical run after three weeks and is still going strong.
PUSHPA: THE RISE CREATES A NEW RECORD
Pushpa: The Rise, directed by Sukumar, hit the theatres on December 17. The film was supposed to release in theatres on Christmas. But, the makers had decided to push the film’s release ahead by a week to avoid clashing with Ranveer Singh’s 83 at the box office.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to reveal that the Hindi version of the film has crossed Rs 75 crore at the Indian box office. This is indeed a huge achievement for a regional cinema to dominate the box office despite competition with new releases.
He wrote, “An open field [no new release] is helping #Pushpa have an uninterrupted dream run #Maharashtra and #Gujarat – these two markets – are unstoppable, especially Tier-2 and Tier-3 centres [Week 4] Fri 1.95 cr. Total: Rs 74.44 cr. #India biz. #PushpaHindi (sic).”
