Andhra Pradesh minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy passed away on Monday, February 21 after suffering a severe heart attack. He was admitted to Apollo hospital in Hyderabad, where he passed away.
He was the son of industrialist and politician former Nellore MP M Rajamohan Reddy. Goutham Reddy was born on November 2, 1971. He completed his Master’s degree from the University of Manchester.
He became an MLA for the first time in 2014. The 50-year-old YSRCP leader represented Atmakur constituency in Nellore district. He served as the Minister for Industries, Commerce and Information Technology.
He won his first general election in 2019 from Atmakur. The minister had returned from Dubai on Sunday where he was leading a government delegation at Dubai Expo 2022.
Telangana minister KT Rama Rao expressed his condolences on the passing away of his colleague.
