Royal Enfield Hunter 350 likely to rival against Honda’s 250cc and 500cc Scrambler

Most manufacturers use the economies of scale to full extent, churning out as much cheddar as possible from one platform. And if reports from Japan are to be believed, Honda is planning to expand its range using the Rebel cruiser platform.

While there is no official confirmation about the same, the renderings you see here give a fair idea of what to expect from the motorcycles which are said to hark back to Honda’s CL series from the 70s. Hence, the modern-scrambler styling that borrows cues from the CB350RS that is sold in India. There is the tuck and roll seat, tail lamp, headlamp and wheels from the former sitting on the Honda Rebel frame. Well, the high-set exhaust do look like they crawled their way from Triumph’s parts bin but fit the whole look well.

Nonetheless, under the body will either be a 249cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 26bhp and 22Nm or a 471cc, parallel-twin engine that is good for 47bhp.  Either way, the idea seems like a plausible one and we can expect to see production versions atleast by early 2023. Although, what is more unclear is whether Honda will get these motorcycles to India since it already has the CB350RS and is yet to entirely launch the long-due CB500 range.
