‘MY WHOLE WORLD TURNED UPSIDE DOWN’

The 2017 actress assault case sent shockwaves across the nation. After five long years, the actress shared a post regarding the incident on Instagram.  She appeared on her first-ever video interview on March 6, where she spoke about the trauma.

She said, “When it happened, my whole life turned upside down. My mind was constantly searching for somebody or something I can put the blame on. It was constant chaos in my mind. Why did this happen? Why me? So many questions were in my mind.”

‘I AM A SURVIVOR, NOT A VICTIM ANYMORE’

When the trial began in 2020, she was interrogated at the court for 15 days. She described it as a dramatic experience. By the end of 15 days, she felt that she is a survivor.

She explained, “When my trial began, I had to go to court for 15 days. It was a different, dramatic experience altogether. On the 15th day of the trial, I came out of the court feeling like a survivor. I realised that I am a survivor, not a victim anymore. I am not just standing up for myself, but also for the dignity of all the girls who come after me.
