The OnePlus 10 Pro is soon expected to launch in India. The company has started teasing the arrival of its first 2022 flagship phone, which means that the launch is not too far away. The OnePlus 10 Pro was first unveiled earlier this year in China, leaving very little to imagine. If you are excited about the upcoming OnePlus phone, then keep reading to know more about it.
When is OnePlus 10 Pro coming to India?
The device is already selling in China and isn’t yet available in global markets. So far, OnePlus has only confirmed that it plans to bring the OnePlus 10 Pro to India and other markets in March. The company is still keeping the launch date a secret, but it has started posting a series of teasers just days ahead of the launch, a trend that OnePlus usually follows for its devices.
Earlier this month, tipster Yogesh Brar suggested that the OnePlus 10 Pro will launch in India either on March 22 or March 24. While the chances of it launching tomorrow is highly unlikely, the second launch date could turn out to be true, given that the specifications of the device are already known and it’s just the price that everyone is curious about.
OnePlus 10 Pro: Expected price in India
Speaking of which, OnePlus is expected to keep the price of its latest phone in the lower range than other flagship smartphones, such as Samsung Galaxy S22 and iPhone 13. The company follows this strategy of offering top-notch specifications at a more accessible price to beat Samsung and Apple.
In China, the device is on sale for CNY 4,699, which is approximately Rs 54,500 in India when converted. The starting India price of the OnePlus 10 Pro could fall between Rs 60,000 to Rs 65,000 if we go by last year’s pricing. Every year, the company usually increases the price range of its smartphones. But, if OnePlus is not yet ready to fight with Samsung and Apple in the Rs 70,000 price range, then we might not witness a price increase this year.
For your reference, the OnePlus 9 Pro made its debut with a price tag of Rs 64,999. The Samsung Galaxy S22 comes with a starting price of Rs 72,999 in India, whereas the iPhone 13 is priced at Rs 74,900.
Will OxygenOS be available on OnePlus 10 Pro?
While the Chinese model is running on ColorOS skin, the global and Indian variants of the OnePlus 10 Pro will likely ship with OxygenOS, something that the company’s CEO Pete Lau has already hinted.
Last month, OnePlus made it clear that it is no longer planning to offer a “unified OS” to users and that the OxygenOS and ColorOS will be developed on the same codebase. But, the question of whether OnePlus users will get the same experience still remains intact in the minds of people. Lau has promised that the upcoming OxygenOS 13 update will “uphold hallmarks of OxygenOS” while also offering users a better design and faster experience.
OnePlus 10 Pro expected to launch in India soon: What to expect?
-The OnePlus 10 Pro is a full-fledge flagship smartphone and will likely be the most expensive offering from the company. It is expected to come with the same specs that OnePlus is offering with the Chinese model. The device is using Qualcomm’s fastest and most powerful chipset – Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
-The OnePlus 10 Pro has a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display with support for QHD+ resolution and 1300nits of maximum brightness. People who like massive displays with vibrant colors will likely be pleased by this phone. The display also supports variable refresh rate. So, it can adjust the refresh rate ranging between 1Hz and 120Hz based on the content, which should help save battery up to a certain extent. The front also has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection too.
-OnePlus has included a 5,000mAh battery inside the OnePlus 10 Pro. It is worth pointing out, this will be the first OnePlus phone to offer more than a 4,500mAh battery unit. It has support for 50W wireless charging and 80W fast charging as well.
– For photography, there are three cameras at the back and the setup includes a 48-megapixel Sony IMX789 camera with OIS support. It is paired with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle Samsung ISOCELL jN1 sensor and an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor with OIS support. The setup has support for 3.3X optical zoom and is also capable of recording up to 8K videos. The cameras are backed by Hasselblad to offer better color calibration. On the front, the company has added a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
-As far as IP rating is concerned, the company hasn’t confirmed this yet. But, since the OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 9 Pro had IP68 ratings, the upcoming OnePlus 10 Pro might also have the same. One thing that we know for sure is that there is no headphone jack at the bottom of the phone.
