Survey: Three ways teachers are using social media to help students study

In recent times both social media and technology have become an indispensable part of our lives. Students are using various online tools to enhance their learning. It will not be wrong to say that social media and education go hand-in-hand in the modern world.

According to a recent study, more and more teachers around the world are incorporating social media into their classrooms to engage students both online and in person. In short, we can say social media is shaping and influencing how students learn and interact today.

HOW SOCIAL MEDIA EXCITES STUDENTS

Social media interference whether through live-streaming of an event, like, or comment on a post seems to excite students more than a regular classroom set-up where sharing of student’s resources has its limit.

It can be further said that sharing posts and information with other students, rather than simply submitting assignments to the teacher, promotes deeper engagement and willingness to perform better.

It encourages students to put more effort because of the online presence and constant review done by their peers. Sharing photos on social media, going through news feeds, sending messages on chat applications have now become a part of the students’ daily routine.
