Karauli Riots: Cop rescues kid from blazing house, Viral pic wins hearts

A Rajasthan Police constable saved an infant during communal violence in Karauli on Saturday. Since the news circulated on the Internet, netizens have been hailing the cop.

Netresh Sharma, took the baby from the two women who were trapped in the amid the conflict and ran through the fire to save the child.

Sukirti Madhav Mishra, SSP of Shamli, took to her Twitter handle on Monday to praise the bravery of the 31-year-old cop. While sharing the post she wrote, “So proud of constable Netresh Sharma of Rajasthan Police for saving a precious life. This picture is in deed worth a thousand words..”

In a report by NDTV, Netresh said that he was providing protection to the procession by leading the way on a motorcycle patrol. Suddenly, when the stone pelting began, he rushed back and found two people sitting on the road. The two persons were injured and requested him to take them to hospital. He did the necessary.

He then told that he suddenly saw a house in the middle of two shops that was burning. He saw two-three women trapped inside. One of them also had a child in her arms. As soon as he saw that he rushed into the house. Netresh added, “The flames were closing in on the door. The women begged me to help and I told them to give me the child who was already wrapped in a shawl. I took the child in my arms and I told the mother and the other women in the house to run out behind me.”

In no time the photos of the constable went viral and Netizens lauded praises on him demanding gallantry award for him.
