Amid a recent uptick in Covid-19 cases in the national capital, the Delhi government on Friday issued a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for schools.
According to the new guidelines, the Delhi government has directed schools to ensure that no students and staff members should enter school premises without thermal scanning.
The order also advised parents to not send their children to school if they test positive for coronavirus.
Furthermore, schools have been advised to hold meetings with the School Management Committee and Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) on the prevailing Covid situation.
The students should be advised to avoid sharing lunch and stationery items with other students to minimise transmission and encourage social distancing.
Quarantine rooms have to be available at schools. Encourage vaccination among the students and parents, the order read.
In addition to this, the Head of school should ensure that all eligible students/staff/guests should wear face masks properly.
The SOP outlines various precautionary measures to be adopted in schools to prevent the spread of Covid-19 infection.
