Yogi Adityanath waives off farmers loans up to Rs 1 lakh

Lucknow: Yogi Adityanath chaired his first Cabinet meeting in Lucknow today, almost two weeks after he took oath as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

According to a media report, the Yogi Adityanath-led government will spend around Rs 36,000 crore to fund the farm loan waiver.

 

 

This is a major development as the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet decided to waive off loans of up to Rs 1 lakh for small farmers.

With this, at least 2.5 crore small and marginalised farmers of the state are believed to be benefited from the Rs 1 lakh loan waiver.

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet apart from the farm loan waivers has stamped their approval on the ordinances on the ban on slaughterhouses, anti-Romeo squads. The Cabinet has also approved the proposal to buy 100 percent wheat crop of farmers across the state.

 

 

The government also announced its decision to shut down all illegal slaughterhouses running in the state.

Apart from this the government has approved setting up of a sports stadium in Ghazipur.

 

 

CM Adityanath on Sunday had announced Rs 47 crore as immediate fund for the Bundelkhand region.

The meeting was attended by the Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and UP Minister Shrikant Sharma for the first Cabinet meet with the newly-elected Chief Minister.
