New Delhi: High Court ruled that the company in which Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi are stakeholder will be probed by the Income Tax Department in the National Herald Case.

Earlier, the Patiala House Court had allowed to investigate income tax of Gandhis, which was then challenged at the Delhi High Court.

Bharatiya Janata Party  leader Subramanian Swamy had filed an application in 2012, accusing Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul and others associated with the Congress of conspiring to cheat in the land deal.

Swamy has alleged that by paying just Rs 50 lakh the Young India Private Limited obtained the right to recover Rs 90.25 crore from the AJL, which was owned by the Congress. Sonia and Rahul Gandhi together hold 76 per cent stake in the Young India Private Limited.

Besides Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, Swamy has made Congress leaders Motilal Vora, Oscar Fernandes and Suman Dubey, and close aide of the Gandhi’s Sam Pitroda as accused in the case.
