Lucknow: At time when Uttar Pradesh govt led by Yogi Adityanath is protesting against liquor, on the other side BJP leader and UP minister Swati Singh has landed her party in a controversy by inaugurating a beer bar.
According to sources, the BJP legislator from Sarojani Nagar in Lucknow has inaugurated a beer bar of her friend in the state capital, photos of which went viral on social media. She’s facing flak on social media for her act.
Swati, in pictures, can be seen cutting a red ribbon with a group of people standing alongside her.
Swati is the wife of former state BJP vice president Daya Shankar Singh, who was expelled following his derogatory remarks against BSP chief Mayawati in a public.
Singh’s expulsion was later withdrawn and BJP fielded Swati in UP Assembly elections. She is now a senior minister in the Yogi Adityanath government.
Ever since Adityanath took oath as chief minister, women groups are protesting against liquor sale and consumption demanding a ban on alcohol in the state.
