Srinagar: At least two militants and an Indian soldier were killed on Thursday as the Army foiled two infiltration bids on the Line of Control (LoC) in Naugam and Uri sectors in Kashmir Valley.
“Two terrorists were killed and an Army soldier martyred in Naugam sector of the LoC in Kupwara district when a group of terrorists tried to infiltrate into our side from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir,” a Defence Ministry source said.
“In another infiltration bid, the terrorists tried to cross over in Uri sector of Baramulla district. They were challenged. In the ensuing firing exchanges, two soldiers have been injured,” the official said.
Infiltration bids at both places have been foiled, but the operations are still ongoing, the official added.

Three militants were killed when the Army foiled an infiltration bid in Machil sector of Kupwara district On Wednesday.
On other hand, at least ten Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were injured on Thursday in Shopian district of Kashmir Valley when their vehicle turned turtle and was pelted with stones.
The police said attackers resorted to intense stone pelting at the passing CRPF vehicle on the outskirts of Shopian town.
“The injured troopers are being taken to hospital. Reinforcements were rushed to the spot,” a police officer said.
