Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday: Mobile phones of 13 fans stolen outside Mannat

Mumbai : A total of 13 cellphones, belonging to fans of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, were stolen as they gathered at Bandra to wish King Khan on his birthday on Thursday.

Like every year, this time too, hundreds of people gathered outside Khan’s home, Mannat, at Bandstand, after midnight on Thursday to greet the actor on his 52nd birthday.

Thursday by pickpockets who took advantage of the crowd. Of them, one was 26-year-old Ankit Sahu who reached the Bandra police station to file a complaint about his phone being stolen while he waited to get a glimpse of the star. Apart from him, at least 12 others also reported about their cellphones being stolen.

So far, 13 different complaints of cellphone thefts have been registered.

On Thursday, Malishka Mendonsa, a radio jockey at Red FM, had tweeted a warning to fans outside Mannat asking them to be careful of their belongings as pickpockets were roaming among the crowd.

SRK, who celebrated his birthday with his family and friends at Alibaug, greeted his fans on Thursday evening from the terrace of his residence Mannat, accompanied by little AbRam. The actor also shared a couple of photos on his Twitter handle and captioned them as, “A ray of sunshine… A sea of love… Thank you all for the happiness you bring every year!”

Shah Rukh Khan will be next seen in an untitled film by Anand L Rai. He will be seen portraying the role of a dwarf in the movie, reports suggest. His big screen debut came in the form of Deewana (1992) where he acted alongside actress Divya Bharti and won the prestigious Filmfare award for Best Debut Actor Male.
