Retired nurse from KGMU found murdered at home in Lucknow

Lucknow: In a shocking incident, a 65-year-old elderly retired nurse from King George Medical University (KGMU) has been found brutally murdered at her home in Uttar Pradesh’s state capital Sarojini Nagar locality today.

 

 

According to police, the diseased woman has been identified as Lucy Singh who was murdered just for the sake of resisting burglary crime act by some unknown persons in day boarding light.

In this crime act, the police have recovered broken pieces of bricks along with knives of different shapes and sizes, currency notes in denominations of Rs 100, Rs 50, clothes strewn across the floor and trail of blood.

 

 

The deceased woman was identified as Lucy Singh, who lived in a single-storey house in Trimurtinagar under Sarojini Nagar locality alone and whose husband had died about ten years ago and she has two sons.

Her elder son Abhishek Singh is a school teacher by profession and lives in Talkatora area while the younger Akash Singh is a journalist with a news channel in New Delhi, police told journalist.

The whole incident came into lime light after one of her neighbour Gayatri who lives nearby came to visit Lucy at around 4.30pm found gate of the house open.

 

 

She walked in and found Lucy was lying dead in a pool of blood in her bed room. She raised an alarm following which other neighbours rushed in and informed police.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police (east) SK Mishra said that there was no sign of forced entry so the killer may have been an acquaintance. “Her face was mutilated with blows of bricks.

 

 

Apart from this many injuries were caused by sharp-edged knife could be seen on the head,” said Mishra. All the jewellery, cash in the room was found intact other than some currency notes strewn around the room. The almirah was also not locked and Lucy’s elder son verified that it had all the articles.

Krishnanagar CO Lal Pratap Singh said, “We have taken her call details record and are verifying from neighbours whether they had seen entry and exit of any visitors. We suspect it to be the job of an insider.”
