New Delhi: The central government on Tuesday announced launch of a new unique Rs 75 coin in denomination to commemorate the seventy fifth anniversary of India’s flag hoisting for the first time by Subhash Chandra Bose at Port Blair.
According to report published in news agency stated contains Finance Ministry release, “The coin of seventy-five rupees denomination shall only be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the central government on the occasion of ’75th Anniversary of Hoisting of Tricolour’ for the first time by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at Port Blair”.
Subhash Chandra Bose, freedom fighter who founded the Indian National Army (INA) hoisted the Tricolour for the first time at Cellular Jail, Port Blair on December 30, 1943.

Few facts to know about the unique coin of Rs.75 denomination:
1. As per reports, the new Rs. 75 coin features Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s image, which is shown saluting the flag against the backdrop of Cellular Jail. The Rs. 75 coin will weigh 35 gram.
2. The coin will comprise 50% silver, 40% copper and 5% nickel and zinc each.
3. Below the image of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, a numeral 75th plus the caption anniversary will be included on the coin. Also, the coin would showcase an inscription saying ‘First Flag Hoisting Day’ in both English and Devanagari script.
