With Holi round the corner, which premium smartphone will help you capture those colourful moments?
According to New Delhi-based photographer Prashanth Vishwanathan, when it comes to clicking a perfect Holi snap, the cameras in both iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have an upper hand among the premium smartphones in India where Apple, Samsung, Google Pixel and Huawei devices jostle for space.
“Both Apple devices have a dual 12MP camera set up, offering a wide-angle and a telephoto lens. Using the iPhone XS is incredibly simple, with a pretty basic native camera app,” Vishwanathan told.
Water splash and throwing Holi colour powder are best shot on “Slo-mo” video.
“Slo-mo looks great when the phone is placed on an even surface and is stationary. This trick would also avoid the focus point from shifting,” he added.
Videos look best when the camera is stable or mounted over a tripod or in an even surface. “Use a gimbal to stabilise your videos and give that cinematic feel,” said Vishwanathan.
In case one needs to capture quick movement, the burst mode is amazing as it captures sudden movement like a lighting or colour burst.
There are some photo-editing apps on Apple App Store like Halide, Enlight (Apple Design Award Winner of 2017), Adobe Lightroom, VSCO, Afterlight 2 and Prisma that come handy.
There are other apps to add colour to your videos like Vizmato (only local app), kirakira+ and Glitche.
