The entire process will be completed by 27 May. On the previous day, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari requested the Election Commission to hold elections to 9 vacant seats of Maharashtra Legislative Council at the earliest.
The Governor had said that in view of the end of the current crisis in the state, elections should be announced on 9 seats of the Legislative Council, which have been vacant since April 24. On this, the Commission has announced to hold elections.
