There is also an overdraft facility of Rs 5000 on Jan Dhan account. For this, there is a mandatory condition that the account should also be linked to the Aadhaar card.
If someone’s Prime Minister Jan Dhan account is not linked to Aadhaar card, then overdraft facility cannot be given on that account.
Under the overdraft facility, the account holder can withdraw up to Rs 5000 from the bank even when there is no money in his account.
In order to take advantage of the overdraft facility, the account holder must first transact from the account for 6 months.
As per the relevant bank rules, if the account is maintained properly, then the account holder is given an overdraft facility of up to Rs 5,000.
