Yogi Adityanath administered government of Uttar Pradesh has sent a proposal to the union government with plans of opening Sainik schools in all the divisional headquarters in the state.
“At present, there are 31 Sainik Schools being operated by the Defence Ministry in the country with the maximum of them in Uttar Pradesh — one each in Jhansi, Mainpuri, and Amethi,” said a government spokesperson.
The proposal for establishing Sainik schools in all divisional headquarters of Uttar Pradesh came after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, during the Union Budget 2021 presentation, proposed the establishment of 100 Sainik schools in the country.
While talking about the plan to establish Sainik Schools in Uttar Pradesh, the official spokesperson said that Sainik Schools provide quality education at a reasonable fee which is something that a lot of students in the state require.
The spokesperson further added that if the central government gives its nod to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s proposal, more students of the state will get the opportunity to get enrolled in these schools.
The Uttar Pradesh Government’s proposal, if approved, will give a huge impetus to the education ecosystem of Uttar Pradesh. As per the announcements made during the Union Budget 2021 presentation, the Higher Education Commission will also be established this year. the establishment of a central university in Leh was also proposed by the finance minister.
