Lucknow: People who are not taking anti-covid protocols seriously and are not wearing face masks beware, as Lucknow Municipal Corporation will restart its drive against offenders to charge monetary penalty from them for not wearing masks. According to LMC officials, a penalty of Rs 500 can be charged from offenders not wearing face masks.
As per LMC officials, twelve sanitation team headed by sanitary inspectors have been formed for conducting sanitization drives in the city and to impose fines from offenders on daily basis. An additional responsibility of catching such violators throwing used face masks and hand gloves.
Civic body has also urged citizens to click photographs and submit the photo at Lucknow One app along with the area description to catch violators. As per the pollution norms set by the National Green Tribunal (NGT), bio waste should be only kept in a concealed container and should be disposed within 24 hours.
LMC health officer Sunil Rawat said, “Our teams are also visiting narrow lanes to ask people to wear mask properly. We will not let any violator scot free and monetary penalty will be imposed on them.”
