The Chinese smartphone brand Realme has announced the launch date of its upcoming Realme 8 5G smartphone in India. According to the company, the digital launch of Realme 8 5G is scheduled for Thursday, April 22 at 12:30 PM on Realme social media platforms, including YouTube and Facebook.
In a media invite, the company said: “2021 is going to be the year for 5G enabled smartphones. We launched 5G smartphones in our Realme X series and narzo series, continuing the 5G momentum, Realme is all set to take a leap again and unveil its much anticipated first 5G smartphone in its number series – Realme 8 5G. We will be a leader of 5G and will add more devices to our 5G portfolio, in India as well as globally.”
The company has revealed that Realme 8 5G will be equipped with Indias first MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G processor and trendsetting features crafted with excellence that will surely elevate the experience of smartphone users. It is said to come with 8GB of RAM. The smartphone could run Android 11 out of the box along with the companys Realme UI 2.0 skin. This smartphone is likely to pack a 5,000mAh battery.
As per the official Realme teaser on the e-commerce platform Flipkart, the smartphone will be available in Supersonic Blue and Supersonic Black colour options. Further, Realme 8 5G will weigh around 185 grams and has a thickness of just 8.5mm, as per the company.
Realme 8 5G will sport a rectangular rear camera module that will include four camera lenses. The primary rear camera is said to be a 48MP one. Interestingly, the Dare to Leap branding, which is prominently placed on the back cover of the Realme 8 series, seems to be missing from its 5G counterpart.
