Current smartphone trends suggest that 5G has suddenly become super important. Not just the high-end smartphones but even the midrange one’s have started prioritizing 5G. Almost all of the brands now have a 5G compatible smartphone, and Poco is the next to follow up.
The Poco M3 Pro 5G is the upcoming 5G smartphone from Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO. The company recently revealed that the smartphone is arriving on May 19. In addition to that, Poco, in a tweet, mentioned that it would be powered by Mediatek’s Dimensity 700 SoC.
The device has been spotted on several certification websites, including BIS, FCC, Indonesia Telecommunication and NBTC. Also, the Poco M3 Pro 5G has been subjected to multiple leaks helping us with a decent chunk of information. Now that the launch of the Poco M3 Pro 5G is just around the corner, we decided to stack everything we know so far about this smartphone.
Poco M3 Pro 5G specs and features
–Reports suggest that the Redmi Note 10 5G that was launched back in March globally will debut as Poco M3 Pro 5G in India. This device was spotted on BIS and FCC with model numbers M2103K19PI and M2103K19PG. As per a tipster, model number M2103K19PG is associated with Redmi Note 10 5G, whereas the other model number M2103K19PI with the Poco M3 Pro 5G. Moreover, this Poco device has also been spotted on SIRIM Malaysia and Thailand’s NBTC.
–An Indian tipster has also leaked an image of the upcoming Poco M3 Pro 5G. The smartphone seems to have a rectangular module with a triple camera setup and a flash from what we can see. It has a peculiar dual-tone finish on the rear with a Poco branding just below the camera module. There’s a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for authentication on the side. Whereas on the front, the Poco M3 Pro 5G is supposed to get a punch-hole camera placed on the top of the smartphone. Finally, the device will supposedly be made available in three colour options – Blue, Yellow and Black
–The Poco M3 Pro 5G is supposed to feature a 6.5 inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz. A layer of Gorilla Glass 3 may protect it. Under the hood, the Poco M3 Pro 5G will be powered by Mediatek’s Dimensity 700 SoC. For your information, it is an octa-core chipset based on a 7nm manufacturing process and coupled with Arm Mali-G57 MC2 SoC. This should be coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.
–In the camera department, the Poco M3 Pro 5G is expected to sport a triple camera setup on the rear consisting of a 48-megapixel primary shooter, a 2-megapixel macro shooter and another 2-megapixel depth shooter. Whereas on the front, it may get an 8-megapixel sensor for selfies.
–In terms of connectivity, the smartphone will get support for 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C 2.0. The Poco M3 Pro 5G is expected to be powered by a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging support.
–Talking of the Redmi Note 10 5G, it features a 6.5 inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel with support for a 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is powered by Mediatek’s Dimesity 700 and is coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. Even the Redmi Note 10 5G features a 48-megapixel triple camera setup on the rear with two additional 2-megapixel cameras. Finally, the smartphone is powered by a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
Poco M3 Pro 5G launch
The Poco M3 Pro 5G has been confirmed to launch on May 19. Poco Global executive Kevin Xiaobo Qiu and Angus Ng, in an exclusive interview with Android Central, revealed that the Poco M3 Pro 5G would be available in the trademark Poco Yellow colour option. Kevin also pointed that this will be the first Poco M-series smartphone with a high refresh rate display.

Currently, there’s no information about the Poco M3 Pro 5G. However, keeping the pricing of the Redmi Note 10 5G in mind, we expect the smartphone to price at Rs 15,000 for the vanilla variant.
